Peaceful Hospital Transfer Birth

When I was looking for a home birth midwife, I knew I wanted someone nurturing and motherly. When I met Mary, I knew she was exactly that! She cared for me like I was her daughter and I could never thank her enough.

We were team green and couldn’t wait to find out who baby was at birth! I dreamed of having a water home birth and wanted to do everything I could to achieve that. The beautiful labor process began late Thursday evening and we knew we would meet baby that next day. Mary and Hailey arrived ready to keep the peace in my birth space. They were prepared, efficient and caring. The birth pool was set up with music playing in the bedroom dimly lit from the dark night sky. As I progressed, baby was not engaging. Mary and Hailey jumped in to help me try various positions, stretches and walking. They prayed over me and encouraged me to lean into the Lord’s strength. My chiropractor attended to adjust me after fully dilated. Baby was just not budging. After being fully dilated for 5 hours, we decided to make the decision to transfer to the hospital.

Mary was very attentive to make sure my records were transferred and to calm my nerves. She assisted us in feeling comfortable and knowing how to stand up for ourselves. Baby ended up being delivered via c-section. I trusted that the Lord would protect us. I was too terrified that if the epidural didn’t work that they would put me to sleep and then I wouldn’t get to see the gender at birth. That’s why I opted for a c-section with the awful pressures of the hospital staff. I was thrilled to see it was a boy!! Little Remy Rocco was born healthy at 9lbs 13oz.

Maybe one day I will get that water home birth I dream of! and I hope to have Mary, Hailey and the Birth Blossoms team by my side!
