I have tried to write a review for the amazing team that is Birth Blossoms since August but I truly have not found the right words to do the whole experience justice.
On August 18th I had my 2nd VBA2C but this time at home and in the water!!! I had Hailey attend the birth with Yolanda assisting. Having been in the hospital with 4 prior births and having to leave my children wasn’t easy for me. I can honestly say I regret not properly educating myself and I would of opted for a home birth from the start. It is such a calming & peaceful environment to birth your child at home instead of a cold hospital where you don’t even truly know who will deliver your child unless its scheduled and the baby is forced out.
I did not have a cookie cutter pregnancy but both Hailey and Mary were so incredibly supportive from start to finish. I have never once experienced anything like my visits with Hailey or Mary. It was so relaxed as if I were visiting with family, it wasn’t that I’m just another “customer“ feeling. There were times when as a midnight shift working mother of 4 (almost 5) that I felt overwhelmed/overworked and these ladies knew instinctively when to encourage me without me even saying a word. There is nothing like knowing that the women who will be there during such a private and special time in your life actually care about you and your child’s best interests. I laughed and walked around eating watermelon and drinking during 99% of my labor but I won’t act like I hiccuped and my 8.4oz baby just fell out bc he didn’t!!
There were times as he was starting to crown that I know I told Hailey I couldn’t do it, and by told I might have yelled it (not sure I was a little busy). She didn’t even flinch or lose focus she just reassured me (in this almost butter like voice) that I can do it and I was doing it. It’s like every time I lost focus she reeled me right back in immediately.
Can we talk about how amazing my recovery was?!? I got to shower in my own shower and sleep in my bed the first night and it was so peaceful. I would honestly still have highly recommend the amazing ladies at Birth Blossoms if I had ended up giving birth in the hospital. The level of care I received from them throughout my entire pregnancy and birth was matchless!”
