Mary and Hailey accepted me as a new patient (first time mom) with open arms at 30 weeks. I was unhappy with my current OBGYN and wanted a more natural water birth experience. They set me up with an awesome Doula named Lori and got my Husband and I set up with birthing classes.

It was a Friday night when my contractions felt different, stronger than the Braxton Hicks I had been experiencing. I knew things were transitioning in my body.

Saturday rolled around and the pains kept on. Lori came over and knew right away that something was different with me. We called Mary to have her come and assess me. We all agreed that it might be a little early.

On a stormy Sunday evening at 39 weeks and 4 days was the day our lives changed forever.

The contractions were growing and growing, stronger by the hour. Lori came over around noon and again we reached out to Mary.

"On a stormy Sunday evening at 39 weeks and 4 days was the day our lives changed forever."

Mary and Yolanda (her birthing assistant) arrived and assessed again and said today would be the day!! They unpacked all of their supplies and got the birthing pool ready.

Baby Connor was born that Sunday at 6:08pm in the comfort of our home surrounded by so much love. My water birth was an amazing experience and one I could tell over and over again!!

Lori had set up our bedroom with Christmas lights, spa music playing in the background, and dim lights, just as I had imagined! So peaceful and relaxing. I was really able to focus on my breathing. I was happy to be able to do my own thing, walk around, eat and drink, not be attached to cords, and listening to alarms go off. And also have my mom and mother in law with me to meet their newest grandchild.

I can’t thank Mary, Hailey, and Lori enough with helping me deliver my beautiful baby boy.
